Zalec! Zalec! Zalec! Come on gang let's spur Arty on. Offer up any help you can. With O'Malley mia, Arty needs some attention. There is a lot of interest in this map and somebody else is thinkin bout takin it on. That would be a travesty with all the hard work thats gone into this already. Lastson wants to help The Artist. DoC Sean? TopGun? MastaFlava? Brawler? Who else? How bout some of our new friends from Raged Apocalypse?

I'll have to get the most recent file from O'Malley, and see if I can get him a bit more open about it. He's still been working on it here and there.
Don't think alot more has been done yet though.
We still have several interiors to do and a couple of walls that are triggered to blow up, etc. As well as some other beautification stuff.
But the basic proportions of the rest of the map have been done. I'm good with displacements (mounds, rubble etc.) textures, and some interior and exterior design, but we need someone who can be very precise with the proportions for the rest of the interiors, etc. if O'Malley can't work on it much himself.

Hey Im here for you arty leme know what needs done and hopefully i can learn it. Also I have a week off right infront of me so i can get a lot done if you give it to me quick. I can even Help with a trailer for it .

I don't know exactly what I could do, but I might be able to find some really good map testers (understand where a map is in terms of development)to run a play test, to see where the game play sits before doing a lot more work on the ever important "sourcification" of the map. edit "just noticed that my post count got nerfed, , lol

Howdy all, First post in a long time. It's good to see the energy here hasn't changed much and that there's still interest in this now cobweb-infested map. I'm making a test post on our forums before I get activated on the Steam forums. Apparently steam didn't like the simplicity of the dayofdefeat.net boards and had to crap all over it and delete everyone's accounts. This post is meant to show the similarities between the original Zalec, and our remake. Here goes: -------------------------------------- Hey all, O'Malley here, posting some pics of old Zalec and our Zalec in order to show the similarities and slight differences. While we wanted to keep gameplay close to the original, we also wanted it to look better than the original proportionally. The old map featured some horrible sizing discrepancies in the interiors of most of the buildings, most notably in the first Axis spawn area. You'll notice in our version (images on the right) that all doorways have a standard size. This is just one example of slight visual fixes that will hopefully make the map feel more realistic. I feel like I'm ranting so I'll just finish by posting the images. If you have any questions about other changes we're making or how we're addressing certain parts of the original map, post them and I'll answer them as well as provide screenshots if we've made it to that stage of the mapping process. Each thumbnail is a link to a 1024x768 image. The images on the left are of the original, the right of the remake. One other change I'd like to note is the general warmth of the map has changed. The dull blue has been replaced by a yellow glow. While we didn't really intend for this to happen, once we saw the difference we kept it. Finally, we plan on adding a few easter eggs to the map, like street names and wall hangings. The coolest one we've developed so far is the clock tower. The hands actually move with the round timer, and count down the minutes and seconds left in the match (displayed in hours and minutes). If the Axis defend the map for the given amount of time, the clock reaches 12 and a booming bell tolls. The next 2 screenshots demonstrate this.

Plane is looking great. We'll probably use a full-sized model (if that works for you guys) for the flyover and make it closer to the player than in the original. I want the player to feel like they could toss a rock and hit the plane.
